Kushimoto Marine Park is the first marine park established in Japan in
July, 1970. The Kuroshio Current washes the coast, sae water is clear and
water temperature is not lower than 15°C even in winter, and keeps
warm temperature all the year round. In the sea, a lot of reef corals and
colorful tropical fishes constitute a beautiful underseascape. Kushimoto
Marine Park Center was established for visitors easy to get close contact
with underwater nature. The Center has Aquarium, Undersea Observation Tower
and a semi-submarine-type sightseeing Boat "Stella Maris", as
facilities for visitors. And besides, Kushimoto Diving Park is open for
the skin and SCUBA divers.
In November 2005, the Kushimoto costal sea area including Kushimoto Marine
