Long-spined sea urchin


Family Diadematidae. It is a sea urchin with long spines like a needle. The diameter of the shell is about 7cm. The length of long spines is 20cm or more. The structure shining in orange like an eyeball on the top of the shell is an anus. They occasionally clusters over a shallow reef in warm seas. The spines are venomous. When the spines stick, you feel a strong pain. Be careful when you swim in the shore.
