History and Outline


Kushimoto Marine Park is the first marine park established in Japan in July, 1970. The Kuroshio Current washes the coast, sae water is clear and water temperature is not lower than 15°C even in winter, and keeps warm temperature all the year round. In the sea, a lot of reef corals and colorful tropical fishes constitute a beautiful underseascape. Kushimoto Marine Park Center was established for visitors easy to get close contact with underwater nature. The Center has Aquarium, Underwater Observation Tower and a semi-submarine-type excursion Boat "Stella Maris", as facilities for visitors. And besides, Diving Park is open for the skin and SCUBA divers.
